Woodbridge Town 0, Wisbech Town 2
THE Fenmen made it three successive away wins to knock the Woodbridge off the top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table on Saturday.
Dubi Ogbonna gave them a good start when his strike from the edge of the area after a Matt Lunn pass beat Glyn Dixon in the home goal after just 11 minutes.
Woodbridge then pressed for an equaliser without testing Lea Jordan while at the other end Adam Millson’s shot went over the bar and Ogbonna beat two defenders before missing the target also.
But Wisbech did find the net again two minutes before the break when Steven Reid was put clean through by Ogbonna and he easily found the net.
After the break Jordan had to save an Aaron Churchyard shot, but Wisbech then gained the upperhand again and should have sown the game up with a third goal.
Chris Bacon shot over the bar and there were chances for Millson and Ogbonna as well.
Jordan produced a good save to keep out a Berry shot and near the end Wisbech substitute Simon Mowbray had a shot blocked and his second effort went over the crossbar.
Manager Steve Appleby said: “It was another good away performance.
“We got two goals in the first half but should really have killed the game off after the break when we had number of chances.”
