Former Kings Lynn striker Chris Bacon signed for Wisbech Town last night after 1-1 draw against a young Boston United side at the Fenland Stadium.
The 27-year-old was released by Lynn after the end of last season after making 26 appearances and scoring 10 goals after joining them in November.
Wisbech manager Steve Appleby said: “Bacon is just the right player we needed for the squad. He enjoyed playing for us last week and I was impressed again by him on Tuesday night.”
Boston took an early lead on Tuesday night but it was Bacon who laid on the equaliser three minutes before the break when he squared the ball for Nick Davey to score.
Wisbech also had a goalkeeper on trial with Ryan Rayner, who was previously with Stevenage and Kettering, in action. He will play again on Thursday against Blackstones before Appleby makes any decision.
