Game of two halves for Estover

GIRLS

UNDER 10

Estover Park 3, St Ives 1

Estover started slowly and St Ives capitalised by scoring first but they quickly responded with a goal from Abigail Grist.

The second half brought much improvement from Estover and a quick breakaway led to Kaitlyn Jackson scoring Estover’s second goal. A third goal came from Abigail Grist and Kaitlyn Jackson was pom.

UNDER 12

Wisbech St Mary 3, Sawtry 2

The Saints had bad luck and after having lots of chances 
found themselves losing 1-0 at half-time.

Sawtry quickly went 2-0 up after the break but Saints kept on pressing and had Sawtry constantly defending. Polly Norman (pom) scored two well taken goals and Saints’ pressure was rewarded further when Alex Fisher found the impressive Macy Carr to score the winner.

UNDER 15

Estover Park 5,

Leverington Sports 2

Park took control of the match in the first 10 minutes of the game. Fran Plitsch opened the scoring with a pile driver from 20 yards into the top corner.

Winger Powell grabbed the second after a flying run down the right and a cool one on one finish past the keeper.

Plitsch again found the net just before the end of the first half.

After the break Park continued to play some great football and scored a fourth after a hit back to make it 4-2.

Plitsch (mom) secured her hat-trick from a cut back by Wales and another 20-yard bullet into the top corner.

UNDER 16

Glinton United 2, Estover Park 4

Park made hard work of this game with Glinton taking an early lead.

Stand-in keeper, Sydney Davis, played very bravely, making many saves at the feet of Glinton forwards, before Fern Patterson scored a great individual goal.

In the second half, Park piled the pressure on with Patterson completing a superb hat-trick. Emma Searle scored from close range before Glinton got a consolation goal. Bethan Evan (pom) gave an excellent right back performance.

Witchford Colts 7,

Hungate Rovers 5

Witchford attacked from the off, taking the lead and adding a second goal as Hungate struggled to get a grip on the game.

Ellie Bennington came through to pull one back for Hungate, but Witchford hit back with a third goal. Emma Rudd made it 3-2.

Hungate regrouped and in a second half of end to end football goals from Ellie Bennington, Yazmin Holmes and Casey Ward (pom) put Hungate 5-4 up with 14 minutes to go, but Witchford came back with three more goals to win 7-5.
