GIRLS UNDER 15

Hungate Rovers 8, Bishop Stortford 1

Hungate took the lead through Coleman but the visitors equalised.

Good possession allowed Coleman, Bennington and Rudd to make it 4-1.

A lively home side pressured Stortford and Rudd added her second goal before Coleman (pom) completed her brace and Ratcliffe precisely placed the final goal.

Estover Park 2, Woottons 0

In a highly entertaining game, Park defended stoutly in the first half with Paris Wakelen hitting the post.

Dani Westgate (pom) made some great saves at the beginning of the second half, before Fern Paterson’s shot went in off the Woottons’ keeper. Another Paterson shot was parried by the keeper and Zoe Birch scored from the rebound. Park are back up to second in the league.

UNDER 14

Alconbury 1, Estover Park 2

Park controlled the first half with Fran Plitsch (pom) bossing the midfield helped by the constant movement up front which Alconbury could not handle.

Amy Newell scored the first with a snap shot which found the corner of the net and the second came from a Erin Powell precision lob over the keeper.

Alconbury turned the game in the second half and got one back but Park’s defence battled for an excellent win.

Wisbech St Mary 2, Chatteris 3

This was another well contested game with Chatteris scoring first.

Saints soon equalised through Caitlin Cossey but the visitors started the second half brighter with two quick goals. Hannah Reynolds pulled a goal back for Saints, who then pushed forward looking for an equaliser but were denied by stout defending and good goalkeeping.

UNDER 13

WSM 1, Hungate 1

Chances were limited in this top of the table clash. Saints took the lead but Hungate were soon level with a Lucy Bedwell goal. Both teams had chances after the break but a draw was a fair result.

UNDER 11

WSM Yellow 1, Hungate 0

The friendly was played in great spirit with the girls giving everything. The ball was moved smoothly throughout the pitch with some clever play from both teams.

Saints pushed and in the end got their reward when Alex Fisher pounced on a scramble in the box. Daisy Tomblestone was immense in defence with some perfectly well-timed tackles.
