March Town Football Club began their pre-season programme on Saturday away at Peterborough Northern Star, conceding four goals in the last 20 minutes and losing 8-1.

Ash Brand replied for the visitors.

Joint boss Chris Bartlett said: “Jordan MacLeod, who we hoped would join us, scored a hat-trick.”

Next Saturday is their first home friendly versus Oakham. March should have forward Dan Woods back after he was ill on Saturday, plus keeper Dave Beeny. They will monitor Luke Pepper (hip injury), Tom Flatters and Luke McDowell (both ankle).

Other Hares friendly dates: Moulton (away) Tuesday, July 22, 7pm. Sat, July 26 v Pinchbeck (home) 3pm; Sat, August 2 v Chatteris (h) 3pm; Wed, Aug 6 v Chatteris (a) 7.45.
