MARCH Town manager Paul Crosbie expects Stuart Anderson, Marc Welcher and Lewis Cook to remain with the club this season despite interest from UCL side Huntingdon.

All three players were due to play in last night’s friendly at Peterborough Northern Star, but Ash Brand has informed Crosbie that he will not be playing for the club this season.

Crosbie said: “I think we have had a good preseason and with the players that have signed and the ones who have confirmed they will play for March we have the nucleus of a very good side and we can move on from there.

“I have had good talks with Stuart Anderson, Marc Welcher and Lewis Cook. They have all trained here and am expecting them to play on Tuesday night.

“I also have five players who were at training at the club on Saturday and I am hopeful they will join the club as well.

“Ash Brand has let me know that he wants to play higher this season and I am still waiting to hear from Luke Pepper.”

Pepper was due to play for Yaxley against King’s Lynn on Tuesday, but he and Brand have yet to decide on their next club with PNS’ Jamie Weston also in pursuit.

Former Wisbech Town players Sam Darlow and Aaron McKenna, who was at Desborough and Wisbech St Mary last season, have agreed to join the Hares and last season’s player of the year Adam Sutton is also staying.

Crosbie has also filled the vacant goalkeeper’s role with former Sleaford player Marc Hipwell joining along with Jack McKeown. March are in action again on Saturday at Long Sutton 3pm and then play Parson Drove away on July 19 6.30pm.

Callum Young, Josh Westley, Josh Jackman, James Bradshaw and Gary White have all signed for this season and Crosbie has also had verbal agreements from Giuliano Staffieri, Ben Lemmon, Darren Rawthorn and Sean White to join.
