March Town United 3
THE Hares enjoyed their long trip to the seaside to go to fifth position in the Ridgeons League Division One.
They coasted to a win in deepest Essex after Andy Wayte netted on four minutes at North Road. The hosts levelled on 10 minutes but Adam Rothery and Luke Pepper added goals in the second half to seal victory. Pepper converted a penalty when Stu Anderson was brought down by a defender clipping his heels.
March manager Brett Whaley said: “It was a much better performance than last week. We never really felt threatened apart from their goal.
“I felt it was a matter of when we would score rather than if.
“We were stuck in traffic, and it is a two-and-a-half hour trip, so it is the longest one of the season.
“We set off fairly early, so we got to the ground on time but our preparation for the game was rushed. So to go there and come away with three points is pleasing.”
“I feel we have a lot of goals in the side.
“Adam Rothery has had three in three games, Andy Wayte is scoring goals, while Stu Anderson and Ash Brand have had eight between them, and are not scoring at the moment.
“We are always looking likely to score, and as long as we are keeping them out at the other end, we will continue to win games.”
