Hares draw

March Town Utd 1,

Debenham LC 1

March boss Paul Crosbie thinks his side is going in the right direction following this draw in Thurlow Nunn League Division One on Saturday.

Crosbie said: “A draw was a fair result. The attitude and application were spot-on. It’s nice to arrest our losing streak.”

Toby Ogbonna ran onto a through ball, beat his defender and volleyed over the goalkeeper from an acute angle on 52 minutes. But Debenham levelled on 69 minutes when at a corner the ball skimmed off the head of Sam Darlow for an own goal.

The Hares could have scored inside 15 seconds. At the kick-off four passes were made and Adam McKenna headed over the bar.

Next Saturday at Halstead defender Lewis Cook could be in contention as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Lewis Thompson is back available after being away.

On Tuesday the Hares host Cambs League Premier side Linton Granta in the Cambs Invitation Cup.

March: Flintoff, Dunlop, Lemmon, Mattless, Darlow, Ogden, Gibbons, G White, Ogbonna (S White), McKenna (Richardson), Jackson (Egeaylo).
