Hares face hectic spell

March Town United face two pre-season friendlies in three days later in the week.

The Hares tomorrow travel to Ely (7.45pm) and on Saturday go to Huntingdon (3pm).

March boss Brett Whaley is happy with the squad he has assembled after bringing in eight players since his recent arrival.

A satisfied Whaley added: “I’m pretty happy with the players I’ve got and I am going to work with them for the pre-season.”

What was due to be the Hares’ first pre-season friendly at the weekend against Blackstones at the GER was called off owing to torrential rain.

Whaley said: “The pitch was waterlogged and water was sitting on top on Saturday. It’s disappointing as we have been working hard in pre-season, and we were raring to go.

“We will have to wait now for Tuesday’s game,” referring to last night’s home derby clash with neighbours Wisbech.

In the FA Vase first qualifying round March are at Mildenhall on Saturday, September 10. The winners of that tie visit Gorleston a fortnight later.
