Hares face home truths

March Town Utd 0,

Team Bury 1

Manager Paul Crosbie is left baffled by his side’s wretched recent home form after March went down to Team Bury in Thurlow Nunn Division One on Saturday.

The hosts lost goalkeeper Liam Higgins to a groin injury after 55 minutes and was replaced by Marc Hipwell.

Crosbie said of Bury’s winner: “There were a couple of sloppy passages of play down the right hand side. The guy pulled off Lewis Cook and headed in but they shouldn’t have got the cross in.

“We were poor. We were lethargic for 90 minutes. We made an attacking substitution but we never did anything.

“It was bitterly disappointing. I don’t understand what it is playing at home. We got 14 points at home last season and it can’t continue.”

Hipwell is on standby in case Higgins remains injured and other keeper Ben Collett is not fit enough after work and holiday. On Saturday the Hares are at Long Melford and on Tuesday host Swaffham, the weekend FA Cup victors over Wisbech.

Crosbie added: “We had our best win of the season at Long Melford.”

March: Higgins, G. White, Darlow, Mattless, Cook, Ogden, Jackson, Thompson, McKenna, Richardson, Blanchflower. Subs: Hipwell, S. White, Ogbonna. Not used: Lemmon, Egbayelo.
