MARCH Town take on the bottom side in the Ridgeons Division One, Stowmarket, away on Saturday and the pressure is on to take all three points if they are to stay in the top three.
They were without a game last weekend and dropped to third place as Godmanchester took over the lead with Thetford, now fourth, having a surprise defeat.
Manager Brett Whaley admits: “We have got ourselves in a position now where the pressure is on March to go and take three points off the bottom teams. Many of the players have not faced this pressure before so it will be interesting how we handle it.
“We had to grind out a result at Cornard in our last game and I am sure Stowmarket will be trying their best to get something out of the game after their win at the weekend against Cornard. It will be up to us to break them down.”
“There is still some way to go until the end of the season, but we need to continue a run of success if we are to be challenging for promotion at the end of the season.
“We are in very good form at the moment and have a full squad of players available but many of the players who have come from the Peterborough League have not been under the spotlight like this before.”
Kyle Nolan, who missed the Cornard win, is available again and Whaley added: “We have a squad of 16 players at the moment and it is important to try and keep them all involved by rotating the squad because you never know when you may need a player because of injury or suspension.”
