Hares lead but lose

Hares boss Paul Crosbie said his troops shot themselves in the foot in Saturday’s Thurlow Nunn League Division One game.

He said: “We were really unlucky but frustratingly it was our fault. We were one up at the break through Sam Darlow and could have had three or four in the first half.”

March went 2-1 down in 55 minutes through two errors. The visitors missed an absolute sitter in injury time when Sam Egbayelo screwed his volley wide from six yards.

Crosbie said of the departing Lewis Thompson: “Lewis was frustrated at the fact we weren’t winning games. Swaffham made him an offer he couldn’t refuse and he goes with our best wishes.”

On Saturday the Hares host a tough game with top of the table Whitton.

Crosbie said: “We hope to give a better account of ourselves.”

March: Flintoff, Hipwell, Lemmon (Egbayelo), Mattless, Cook, Ogden (Richardson), Jackson, White, Ogbonna, Gibbons, Darlow. Sub unused: Brit.
