Hares let lead slip

Cambs. Uni. Press 3, March Town United 1

The Hares lost a 1-0 half-time lead to crash to defeat at their University hosts in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One.

March forced a corner after just two minutes. Danny Emmington took it and Andy Bryan stabbed home from six yards. The Press levelled from a corner, while their second came just after Emmington had an effort saved. The hosts sealed it in the final 15 minutes.

March manager Paul Crosbie said: “Andy Bryan was barged out of the way but the referee did nothing.

“We did our utmost to see the game out and we didn’t deserve to get beaten. They’re a top three side and for the third time this season we have been competitive against them.”

Gary White came on for Emmington, who tweaked a hamstring.

Sam Darlow, recovering from a dislocated shoulder, may get a run-out for the Reserves on Wednesday.

Robbie Masters, Toby Ogbonna, Lewis Thompson and Emmington were all doubtful when the Hares last night hosted Team Bury, while Michael Anker is struggling with work commitments. March on Saturday entertain Halstead.
