Hares need to stop misfiring

Halstead 3 March Town 0

The Hares crashed in a Thurlow Nunn League Division One game that manager Paul Crosbie was adamant his side should have got a result on Saturday.

He said: “We had in the region of 15 or 15 efforts on goal, we hit the post. They had three chances on goal and scored,” he fumed.

“We really should have taken something out of it.”

Two errors at the back put Halstead 2-0 up at half-time, and Crosbie added: “In the first 15 minutes we had six good efforts on goal and we should have been out of sight.

“We’ve thrown away three points to a side that were well-organised and maybe they had the luck.

“We need to sort ourselves out for the next game.

“In the last two games we have conceded eight goals and we need to start working as a team.”

Crosbie is expecting Adam Sutton, Marc Welcher, Josh Westley and Michael Anker to return for Saturday’s home game with Brightlingsea Regent.

Lewis Thompson was an unused sub in midweek and had a run-out for the reserves.

Crosbie said: “He has trained for the last two sessions and has had 90 minutes. We’ll have to see how the knee reacts.”

March: Collett, Mattless, Masters, Darlow, Lemmon, Pepper, S. Welcher, Spendelow, Brand, Anderson, Emmington. Subs used: Ogbonna, Gibbons.
