MARCH Town are chasing their last realistic chance of some silverware this season when they travel to face Thetford in a Ridgeons Division One Knockout Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
Manager Brett Whaley said: “At the start of the season this was the competition we thought we had the best chance of winning.
“The draw has not been kind and I am sure Thetford will be extra keen to beat us after we ended their unbeaten league run at the GER.
“Hopefully once again we can show we can beat anyone on our day and should have a full squad available with Lewis Cook and Ben Hepworth returning.”
Thetford had won their first 11 league games until the Hares beat them 2-0 at the GER in December and have since dropped to fourth place after taking just one point from their last three games, drawing 1-1 with Team Bury on Saturday.
Luke Pepper and Marc Welcher both face suspensions later this month and Whaley admits he may have to bring in one player at least as cover.
Welcher faces a three-match ban for his red card and Pepper has accumulated five cautions for a one-game suspension.
“If they are both banned for the same game we will have to look at bringing in someone in as cover,” admitted Whaley.
