Team Bury 2, March Town 0
THE Hares slipped to their fourth successive Ridgeons Division One defeat and dropped to sixth place in the table on Saturday.
Not even the appearance of King’s Lynn striker Liam Harrold could inspire March as they turned in what manager Brett Whaley rated as a “very poor performance”.
He said: “We have gone from a side over achieving to a side under achieving almost overnight and we were just not on our game.”
Team Bury were confident after some good results and took the lead in the first half but March just could not deliver in the last third of the pitch for Harrold, who also looked a little rusty himself with a lack of pitch action recently.
The home side increased their lead early in the second half and the nearest March came to a goal was with 20 minutes to go when substitute Su Anderson forced a good save.
Whaley added: “It might have made things more interesting if Anderson had scored but we really did not threaten enough.”
March: Aaron Butcher, Lewis Cook, Gavin Cooke, Curtis Fulcher, Adam Sutton, Chris Lenton, Adam Rothery, Kyle Nolan, Liam Harrold, Luke Pepper, Ash Brand. Subs used: Stu Anderson, Casey Logan, Matt Waters. Not used: Dan Jenkins.
