Wyberton Wildcats 4,

Hungate Rovers 1

Despite this defeat in the final game of the season under floodlights, Hungate finished runners-up in the Fenland League.

Wyberton quickly took the lead. Hungate responded through a Ratcliffe goal. This was an open end to end game with two top counter-attacking teams.

Wyberton took control in the second half with a long goal kick that was neatly put away. Wyberton extended their lead and finished the game off putting away a penalty. Hungate’s best chance came from Bennington’s free kick which struck the bar.

WSM 1, Estover Park 3

Saints took the lead in the first half with their only real effort.

In the second half, stand-in keeper Sydney Davis made a great save before Emma Searle converted a Fern Patterson corner to equalise for Estover.

Zoe Birch set up a long range goal from Meg Rooney to make it 2-1 and Searle (pom) scored in the top corner for the third. It was tough on Saints, who battled well and went down to eight players in the second half.

Chatteris 1, Cambridge City 1

Chatteris drew against a very strong Cambridge City team, without any substitutes.

The Chatteris midfield of Teonie Peyton and Ella Nutter worked hard. Cambridge scored early on with a deflection from a corner kick but Teonie Peyton equalised with a stunning solo goal.

Chatteris keeper Lauryn Titford got player of the match, tipping one certain goal over the bar and another around the post. Great team performance by all players.
