Peterborough Leaguers Leverington Sports won 3-2 at Cambs League Senior A team Cherry Hinton in the Cliff Bullen Cambs Cup thanks to two goals from Nathan Watson, who also set up the late winner by directing a free-kick on to the head of Sam Cubberley.
Cherry Hinton went ahead at half-time but Watson levelled from 20 yards, then earned a penalty when brought down in the box, successfully converting the spot-kick. Cherry Hinton equalised but Watson had the final say.
Boss Stuart Webb said: “A special mention to Martin Ryan, who retired at the end of last year, and was a colossus at centre-half.”
A nap hand from James Woods ensured Leverington Reserves triumphed 6-2 at Ketton Reserves in the PFA Junior Cup. As well as Woods’ five strikes, Mariusz Kudyba grabbed the other goal.
Long Sutton Athletic were knocked out of the PFA Challenge Cup by the odd goal in five to Riverside Rovers, Stuart George Easey replying with a brace.
Guyhirn beat Gedney Hill in a Division Two thriller thanks to goals from Lee Benton 2, Ryan Brown and Yuriy Batyuk to move up to eighth.
In Division Three Long Sutton Res beat Crowland Town Res by the same scoreline, with Aaron Fitch, Jamie Taylor, Sam Cooper and Steven Robinson on target. Sutton are top, although other teams have got games in hand.
In another high-scoring match Leverington Sports A drew 4-4 with Riverside Rovers Reserves in Division Five. Craig Jolly bagged a hat-trick and Wayne Wallis also netted. Kurt Scott 2 and Jake Lally struck for Sutton Bridge United Reserves in their 3-0 defeat of Ryhall United Reserves.
