Wisbech are aiming for a title and cup double after they reached the Red Insure League Cup final which is at Diss on May 6 versus Stanway Rovers.

Jack Friend scored after four minutes and Neal Spafford made it safe for the Fenmen on Tuesday last week.

Manager Steve Appleby said: “It was quite comfortable. No disrespect meant to Cambridge, but I expected a bit more from them.

“They are a decent side at their level. We are in such good form that it didn’t really matter and we did our job. We’re playing so well that the gulf between the two leagues showed a bit.

“It gives everybody something to look forward to but I won’t be concerned about that before the league finishes – that’s our aim – and if we get what we want, it will be a nice finale.”
