Upwell Town were forced to battle against a spirited Hemingfords A side who took them all the way to penalties in their Ablett Cup clash.
The sides were level at half-time at 1-1 after Danny Dowdney scored a scorching goal from 30 yards into the top corner.
Hemingfords replied shortly before half-time against the run of play. Jack Watson missed a penalty in the first half.
After 90 minutes it was 3-3.
Jonny Allen and Watson both netted, while Jeff Elsey missed a second half penalty.
In the shoot out Upwell converted three (Matt Thomas, Allen and Watson) out of four penalties, whilst Hemingford only hit the back of the net with two of their five shots.
Luke Fage pulled off two saves.
Benwick Athletic Res moved into the last 16 of the Reg Haigh & Arthur Peck Cup with a 3-1 win at Needingworth Res.
Benwick took the lead when James Osbourne set up Rory Parker and 20 minutes later Parker returned the compliment, setting up Osbourne.
Leading 2-1 at half time, Benwick sealed the tie with a Johnny Rose toe-poke.
In the same cup, Upwell Res went down to Chatteris Fen Tigers Res 8-1. Upwell’s goal came from Tom Hubbard.
