The Hares felt they deserved something from this Thurlow Nunn Division One trip to the Pedlars, who scored in each half.

Assistant boss Bob Warby, deputising as manager Paul Crosbie was away due to a family bereavement, said: “Chris Lamming was superb in goal for his debut.

“Both goals arrived via two mistakes from us - their second was just 40 seconds into the second half.

“Jake Ogden had a superb strike equalising disallowed due to a foul in the first half and I cannot fault the attitude of the boys.

“We were disappointed not to take anything from the game, especially when David Jackson ewas denied a penalty in the last ten minutes a decision which even their supporters questioned with the referee.

“The potential within the group is huge and this is all a learning experience for our young squad.”
