Readers may recall back in May 2013 a story that March Town were trying to set up a ladies football team for the coming season.

Well the sessions were a success and a team was entered in the S Tech League. Halfway through the season the squad of 21 consists of a mixture of previous Estover Park U16 players, players who have come out of retirement and from folded teams.

The blend has worked very well with the Hares winning six, drawing two and losing four of their opening games, and a Quarter-Final in the Cambs Invitation Cup.

Manager Gary Davis said: “Not surprisingly, we have had a couple of heavy defeats in the early games as we tried to get the blend right but the team have settled down. I also have a few players on the fringe of getting a starting position.

“The ladies are an excellent bunch, who are fully committed and proud to represent their town’s team.” Sponsorship has been first class with kit supplied by Once Upon A Cake, tracksuit tops by Jaks Graphics and now rainjackets by the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society.
