MARCH Town face their toughest test of the season when they take on Ridgeons Division One leaders Thetford Town at the GER on Saturday.
Thetford have won all 11 league games this season, but Brett Whaley’s side are in a rich vein of form too with three successive wins in third place.
It is a mouth-watering clash and hopefully the March fans will show their support with a big crowd at the GER after a very disappointing crowd of 35 at the latest home game.
Whaley said: “The game against Thetford will really show how far we have come this season. We have won our last three games, but quite honestly in our position I expected us to win those.
“We are really ahead of where I thought we would have been at this stage of the season. With so many new players and, some of them tasting this level for the first time this season, I did not think it would be until the second half of the season that we would be at our best.
“But the players have done really well and we have continued to strengthen the squad. We have had seven or eight good players at March in the past but we now have good squad and that means we have a strong bench to call upon.
“We can still be inconsistent and we do panic at times when we go behind but these are things that can be put right. We do need to a run of good results now and Thetford is a big tes.”
Craig Norman and Lewis Cook are both available again.
