Wisbech Town is holding its annual Goalbound family fun day on Sunday at the Elgood’s Fenland Stadium.
The highlight of the day is a football match between a team of various supporters and a team of Wisbech Town Legends.
Among the legends team are old favourites John Knight, Ian Jigger Jones, Martin Lindsay, Tim Gale, Chris Dear, Phil Ward, John Hanslip, Kevin Leggett, Jerry Lowery, Mark Jimson, Jackie Gallagher, Tim Buckenham and Mel Mattless.
The match is in memory of Denis Harris who was not only an avid supporter, but wrote regular match reports under his pen-name of ‘Goalbound’ on the club’s website.
The day will start at 12 noon and there will be various stalls, raffles, bouncy castle, face-painting, attractions, music and a static display of classic vehicles by the Wisbech & District Heritage Vehicle Club.
Entry is free and any money raised will go to the Supporters Club, who make donations to WTFC. Anyone still wishing to take part should contact events organiser, John Keith on 01945 461354.
