Lilies hang on for a weekend win

Chatteris Town were very pleased with a hard-fought 2-1 win against West Row Gunners on Saturday.

Chatteris went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Lawrie Carter and Tom Moden, but matters got tense when Gunners scored from a penalty.

The Lilies managed to hang on until the end through some good defending.

The Reserves travelled to number four in the league and despite playing well, with Lee Ransome scoring, they couldn’t hold out against a strong Burwell team who ran out 4-1 winners.

The A team struggled to get a team together and consequently lost 12-1 to Doddington as tiredness set in in the second half.

This weekend the first team host Ely City Reserves at 3pm at West Street.
