Lilies upset Soham in cup

Chatteris knocked Cambs Kershaw Premier Leaguers Soham Rangers out of the Cliff Bullen Challenge Cup 4-1.

Asa Revell scored the first goal for Chatteris, leaving the teams equal at full time. In extra time Tony Brown scored a hat-trick.

The Reserves at Huntingdon fell 1-0 behind, but Stuart Porter equalised. One of their players got sent off and the remaining 10 men couldn’t prevent a second goal for Huntingdon.

Chatteris Fen Tigers continue their 100 per cent record with a good win over higher opposition, coming from 2-0 down to overcome Wimblington Res.

Second half goals from Colin Smith, Leigh Matthews and a late winner from Alex Ashley secured the win.

Upwell almost caused an upset against Division 3 Benwick in the North Cambs Cup.

Upwell’s Ken Jones scored, while the Benwick keeper saved a spot kick. Jack Davis and Matt Thomas (free kick) scored for Upwell before Benwick rallied to make it 5-3.
