March to lose ten players

Exclusive by Chris Judge.

MARCH Town have not only been hit by the exodus of manager Brett Whaley but also face ten players leaving the club.

Dan Jenkins, Adam Rothery, Gav Cooke, Kyle Nolan and Craig Norman have all agreed this week to join Whaley at United Counties League club Yaxley.

Skipper Luke Pepper also had talks with Whaley this week but will not make his decision on a move until March announce their new manager out of loyalty to the club but does seem likely to take a chance at a higher level of football.

Huntingdon, who were promoted to the UCL Premier Division for next season, are also looking to take Lewis Cook, Stu Anderson and Marc Welcher from March.

Goalkeeper Aaron Butcher is another player on his way as he attracts offers from several clubs.

The March board are expected to interview candidates for the manager’s job in the next few days but the new man looks like having to bring in a new squad before the season starts.
