MARCH Town moved into second place in the Ridgeons Division One after their Boxing Day win and will be looking to continue the good run at Fakenham next Monday.

They have already beaten Fakenham 2-0 at home this season but manager Brett Whaley said: “We struggled a bit in that game, but I am sure we can play better and you have to be looking to continue the run.

“Before we started this run we were 11 points adrift of Whitton but we are now two points in front of them. Hopefully we can continue the run into the New Year and see where it takes us.”

The team’s run of good fortune has also coincided with the squad getting back to full strength and Whaley’s only injury problem at the moment is defender Adam Sutton with a hamstring and he will not be back for the Fakenham game.

Once again Whaley was able to call upon a very good bench against Downham and he also confirmed once more: “This is the best squad of players I have had and I am sure there is more to come from them as it is almost a new team.”

March will come up against a former player in Kyle Plumb, who has scored just once this season.
