Teenagers who love a kickabout do not always have the time, or desire, to play club football week in week out.
Cambridgeshire FA has 385 youth teams at under 11 to U18 providing football for those wanting regular structured training and matches; but what about those who are unable to commit to weekly training and matches? The FA Mash Up programme allows 14 to 16 year olds to simply play football with friends in a purely social setting.
Chatteris is hosting one of eight county Football Mash Up centres at Cromwell Community College with FA Level 3 and Level 1 coaches in attendance. Both coaches have FA CRB checks.
The fee is just £1 per session and the first session is free. Weekly sessions take place on Thursdays 6pm to 7pm on the Astroturf at Cromwell Community College, Chatteris, which started on Thursday and running for 26 weeks. Anyone interested in taking part can book by contacting Katie Critchley on 01223 209037 Katie.Critchley@CambridgeshireFA.com or just turn up.
