The Cambs League Division 2B game between Tydd United and Wisbech St Mary Res was postponed on Saturday due to the death of a Tydd player.

Competitions secretary Phil Mitcham of Cambridgeshire FA said after the game at Tydd St Giles Recreation Ground was called off: “A Tydd player was sadly found dead on Friday, that’s why the game was postponed.

“It’s very sad. Obviously the league are very sorry to hear of such a tragic thing to happen to a young man.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this moment.”

Chatteris Town FC drew 1-1 away to Brampton in the Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Alex Saunders put the Lilies ahead in the first half.
