TWR Red 2, Estover Park 7

James Meek made his competitive debut for Estover and responded with five goals of quality.

Ben Butterworth and Jack Stockdale were the other scorers. Estover had to be thankful to Kyle Nosworthy in defence to prevent any form of comeback.

Whittlesey Blue 3

March did themselves proud despite losing their first match in the Peterborough and District Junior Alliance.

The Reds were undone by two goals in the final five minutes against last season’s cup winners and league runners-up. MoM Joe Smith capped an outstanding display with a fine first half goal.

Starring for Hungate was Lee Locks with four goals.

MoM was Jamie Hallett in his first league game.

Acorns 3, Thorney 1

Super Acorns kept Thorney pinned in their own half for long periods before a long range shot from Knowles found the net.

In the second half Knowles scored again and Orabosa fired home from distance to put the game to bed.

Holbeach 1, Leverington 6

Leverington started the season with a superb passing performance.
