Hungate Rovers U16 girls 6 Sawtry Colts 1

Megan Ratcliffe’s early goal settled Hungate into their first league game of the season. Sawtry hit the woodwork twice and Casey Read made a great diving save, before Ratcliffe doubled the lead, with Emma Rudd adding to Hungate lead before Sawtry pulled one back.

Dominique Coleman came through from midfield to open the second half scoring. Ratcliffe finished a POM performance, scoring two more goals.

Estover Park U16 girls 0 Wyberton Wildcats 0

Park lost Bethan Evans through injury early on and with a lack of subs, defending stoutly to earn a point. POM was keeper, Dani Westgate, with some crucial saves. Zoe Birch went close for Park. Manager Gary Davis said that several players were in uncustomed positions but a great result against a strong team.

Huntingdon Rowdies 3 Estover Park Youth 1

Even start by both teams showing the summer improvements from Park, defensive decisions cost Park for the first two goals.

Park a had chance to get back into the game with a penalty but unfortunately hit the cross bar.

Second half saw Rowdies score their third putting the game out of Park’s reach.

A consolation goal for Park in the last minute, a cross from Erin Powell found Danni Green at the top of the area who swept the ball into the bottom corner.

Bassingbourn 0 Hungate Rovers U11s 2

Hungate made the long trip to Bassingbourn for there first-ever competitive match and took all three points. With no subs in very hot conditions Hungate worked really hard for their win with Brooke Harris scoring both goals.

A great all round team performance.

Ramsey Girls FC 1 Estover Park Youth U10s FC 2

An excellent team performance by Estover managed to give them their first win in their very first league match. Final score: Ramsey 1, Estover 2. Both goals scored by Abigail Grist who also got player of match.
