March Town 0, Cornard U 2

Hares manager Paul Blanchflower said missed chances cost his team against basement side Cornard, who scored goals in the 58th minute and in stoppage time in Thurlow Nunn League Division One.

Blanchflower said: “In the first half certainly we dominated and it was a game of missed chances. We had so many, but didn’t put them in the net and got punished.

“Sean White and Talal Kamara both had good chances – it looked like a simple touch was needed but the pitch was very bobbly.

“Their first goal was a collision of players in the box at a corner, and left their guy with a free hit. Their second was when we were pushing forward for an equaliser.”

March host third-placed Halstead on Good Friday and on Easter Monday they travel to third from bottom Downham, who have leapfrogged March, in a derby. Callum Young misses the Good Friday match.

March: Barwick, Dunlop, Goult, M Welcher, Lorraine, G White, Angus, Young, S White, Kamara, Blanchflower. Sub: Day.

l March lost at promotion-chasing Haverhill Borough 5-1 last Wednesday night.

Sean White scored again; March have only scored five goals in 2014 and White has got them all.
