Nightmare spell has been good learning curve

March Town take on Ipswich Wanderers at the GER on Saturday and will be looking to do the double over the Suffolk side having beaten them 4-0 away earlier this year.

Manager Jamie Weston said: “Hopefully we will have Ash Brand back for Saturday.

“He will play some part in Wednesday night’s friendly with the Cambs League side. Defenders Marc Welcher and Adam Sutton should also be back this weekend.”

But it is beginning to look as though Luke Pepper may have played his last game for the Hares this season.

Weston added: “He is seeing the specialist again and could possibly be back for the last couple of games but perhaps would be better to call it a day this season and start afresh in the summer.”

The last three months have been a nightmare for the March boss but he has remained positive throughout, and said: “I think I have learned a lot from the the experience but wished it had not happened in the first place.

“But there have been positives with players taking their chance in the first team and showing they can cope with the standard. Ben Lemmon has been a good example and has looked a Ridgeons League player.”
