With players missing, Park dropped to third place with this unexpected defeat.

Fern Paterson scored the opener with a long shot which went in off the crossbar, but Tigers were leading 2-1 at half time.

Tigers got a third before Jade Anderson scored and she also hit the post as Park looked for an equaliser. Megan Rooney (PoM) gave an excellent wing display.

Comberton Crusaders 1, Hungate Rovers 5

A steady start saw Ellie Bennington give Rovers the lead. Hungate’s Jessica Cooper found the net before Comberton pulled one back. Bennington bagged two more before half-time to complete her hat-trick.

The Rovers defence stayed solid throughout and Bennington’s well placed shot extended the final score for Hungate to win 5-1.

UNDER 14

Estover Park 2, Sawtry 8

Park took on top of the table Sawtry and scored first through excellent wing play from Erin Powell whose perfect cut back found Amy Newell to finish.

Sawtry then began to dominate and take the lead but Park’s second came from a through ball from Fran Plitsch to find Powell whose first shot score was blocked by the keeper only for Molly Smethurst follow up and score her first goal. Laura Garners gave a good display in goal.

UNDER 11

Estover Park 3, Comberton 1

Estover were up for this game as they showed Comberton girls they could play football.

Just before half-time Hana Howsam (PoM) scored the first goal and added a second 10 minutes into the second half.

Comberton put pressure on the Estover defence to score their only goal of the game.

With 10 minutes left, Naomi McGarvie stepped up to score Estover’s third goal.
