MARCH Town entertain UCL Division One side Thrapston in the FA Vase on Saturday and will have defender Stu Porter available.

Porter missed last week’s first win of the season but Josh Westley and Adam Sutton did so well that team selection could leave manager Paul Crosbie with a headache.

Crosbie is hoping that the win against Cornard can give the players the confidence against Thrapston, who lost 3-1 at Peterborough Northern Star in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Hares have already acquitted themselves well against UCL Premier Division opposition this season when just losing out 2-1 at Wellingborough in the FA Cup.

Crosbie said: “We are unbeaten in our last two games at home and the players should have some confidence from last week’s win to put in a good performance. Stu Anderson and Adam Sutton have both said what a good positive atmosphere there is in the dressing room now.

“It would be good to have a run in the FA Vase and with a home draw we have the chance to progress.”

Crosbie made three more signings last week with Max Mattless and Mark Reynolds coming from Wisbech and Jack Saunders from Chatteris.

Crosbie added: “We are building into a strong squad of players and as the reserves have their first league game on Saturday I will have just a squad of 16 players so there could be some disappointed players.”
