Wisbech St Mary 6, Fulbourn Inst Res 0
The Saints ran out very comfortable winners of the William Coad Cup final on Wednesday night at Histon.
Aaron McKenna scored twice to give Aaron Duke’s side a 2-0 lead at the break. In the second half McKenna completed his hat-trick and then added a fourth to cap a man of the match performance. Chris Macaree also added two goals to complete the romp for the village club.
It was Fulbourn who started the game the better. They hit the post and Adam Wright was forced into two smart saves before McKenna took over.
Duke said: “We produced a much better performance in the second half. Adam Wright was outstanding in goal again.
“It was a good way to end the season. To win any cup final 6-0 shows great character and work ethic, which my whole squad has shown me all season.”
