Chatteris 1, Wisbech St Mary 4

Saints are through to the League Cup final after this victory.

Both teams created several chances. Saints took the lead when Jade Chamberlain went on a solo run and placed the ball past the Chatteris goalkeeper. Then Caitlin Cossey and Victoria Gatward scored to make it 3-0.

Chatteris then scored early in second half and were then awarded a penalty which Eleanor Coleman saved.

Saints’ fourth was fortunate as Cossey shot from distance and it bounced over the keeper’s head, rebounded off the post, hitting the goalie on the way back, and ended up in the goal.

Deeping 7 Hungate Rovers 2

Deeping pressured from the start catching Hungate off-guard.

Despite Casey Read’s (pom) brave goalkeeping, the first half of this League Cup semi-final saw Deeping go in 3-0 up.

Hungate came out second half and challenged from the whistle, with Bennington and Ratcliffe linking well to score.

Deeping replied but Ratcliffe then completed her brace for Hungate.

Ward, Bennington and Thompson all had shots saved. But Deeping’s finishing was clinical to the end.

Estover Park 3, Clenchwarton 1

Park got back to winning ways with two goals from Zoe Birch.

The first followed a scramble and the second was knocked in from close range.

Park played some neat football and Emma Searle (pom) scored a third. Dani Westgate hit the bar with a late penalty.

Chatteris 1, Isleham 0

Chatteris controlled the game from the kick off and had the majority of possession.

A very strong attacking performance saw strikers Ella Nutter, Teonie Peyton and attacking midfielder Lehanna Turner having chances.

Isleham’s keeper had a lucky day keeping the score down. Player of the match went to Amy Kenning.

Players are wanted for a new Hungate girls team to play league football next season.

Players must currently be in school years 4 or 5. Training starts next Monday, 5.30-6.30pm, at Emneth Playing Field, Hungate Road.
