Wisbech St Mary lost for the first time this season in Cambs League Senior A in their top of the table clash against Debden going down 2-1 at home.
They still top the table by two points over Debden, but Sawston in third place have two games in hand and are three points behind.
Manager Arran Duke commented: “It was a sloppy performance from us. We never really got going and although we dominated possession at times we gave the ball away far too easily.
“It was one of those days where whatever we did it just didn’t come off.”
Chris Macaree scored the Saints’ goal.
Chatteris Town have not got the season off to a good start and suffered their fourth defeat in nine games in the Premier Division with a 3-0 reverse at Cottenham United.
A disappointed manager Steve Taylor said: “We just did not perform on the day and that was all over the park. We just did not seem to get going. It was very disappointing after last week’s win.”
Outwell Swifts suffered their sixth defeat with a 3-2 home defeat against St Ives Rangers in Senior B.
March Town Reserves finally got their season off and running with a 5-0 first success against Wisbech St Mary B in the North Cambs Junior Cup. Andy Bryan 2, Phil Kobas, Josh Jackman and Lee White were on target.
Chatteris Town Reserves lost 5-1 at home to top of the table Littleport Reserves.
Manea United continue their impressive start to the season in Division 2B with a fourth successive win by 4-2 against Milton Reserves and sit second in the table.

Wisbech St Mary A beat Wimblington Reserves 2-0 in the John Ablett Cup with goals from Jamie Cobbin and substitute Ben Crowson. Estover Park lost 4-0 at Mepal Sports in the same competition, while Chatteris A enjoyed a very good 4-0 win at Soham United Reserves.
New team Wisbech St Mary C are yet to taste defeat in Division 5D and enjoyed a fourth success by 2-0 at Walsoken United and are in second place.
Northend lost 2-1 to Doddington Reserves after talking the lead with a Jamie Belfield goal.
Matthew Costall equalised before the break and Anthony Bamford hit the winner for Doddington after Northend wasted several chances.
Coldham enjoyed a 4-0 win against Manea Reserves with Lewis Greening, Elliott Vanhinsbergh, Ed Robinson and Eli Frankham scoring the goals.
