LOCAL footballer Sam Cubberley scored three goals for two different teams last Wednesday night in games almost 20 miles apart.
The young striker began his double shift at Whittlesey where he played for Leverington Sports in the 2-2 draw against Coates Athletic in the Peterborough Premier Division.
Once that game was completed at just after 8pm, he made a quick dash to the Elgood’s Fenland Stadium where he had been named among the Wisbech Town Reserves substitutes for the Cambs Senior A game against Cambridge City Reserves which had kicked off at 7.45pm.
He also played a big part when he came on for the last 30 minutes scoring twice in the 5-3 win for the home side.
But on Saturday Cubberley lasted just 25 minutes for Leverington in their 5-0 win when he had had to come off with a hamstring injury!
