March Town 3,
Pinchbeck 2

The Hares came from behind to grab a late winner in sweltering conditions on Saturday.

Danny Escorcio was the hero with two goals. He had put March ahead with an early tap-in but the visitors levelled with a header from a corner following poor marking.

Pinchbeck went ahead just after the break, with tentative tackling costing the hosts. March hit back via Juliano Menezes’ first pre-season strike and Escorcio’s third goal of the friendly campaign in the last few minutes.

March joint boss Chris Bartlett, who hopes to sign a full-back this week, said: “The game lacked quality. We were slow in the build-up, passing and moving in the heat.

“I was impressed with the way they responded and rallied.”

Saturday sees a home friendly for March with local rivals Chatteris Town (3pm).

Bartlett added: “It’s a big local derby, an important game.”
