Manager Paul Crosbie said: “We conceded three goals from set-pieces in the first half. You can’t shoot yourself in the foot.

“The second half was more encouraging. They missed two penalties, one saved by Max Flintoff who was outstanding.”

Youth team member Toby Ayres got five minutes on debut, and Crosbie said: “He impressed in training and did alright when he came on.”

Crosbie said he hopes to make a couple of signings before next weekend’s trip to Stowmarket.

Stu Dunlop, Paul Richardson and Ben Lemmon return.
