March 3, Braintree Res 1

March went up one place to fourth in the table after going seven games unbeaten.

The Hares went behind again, but were even by the interval through Lewis McManus. McManus scored again just after the break and Dan Woods got the third with a late penalty.

Joint boss Chris Bartlett, who hoped David Jackson (ankle) returned last night at Premier outfit Mildenhall Town in the League Cup, said: “In the second half we took control and there was only ever one outcome.”

He was pleased Tom Flatters (broken arm) came through 90 minutes in the Reserves’ 4-1 loss at St Ives Rangers, Dayne Moore getting the goal.

March Town United’s game versus Foxton last Tuesday night in the Cambs Cup was called off and has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 28.

Next Saturday is a trip to Needham Mkt Res in Thurlow Nunn League Division One.
