HUNGATE Under 15s won their home six-a-side gala after a fantastic day of football from all visiting teams – and Estover Park Girls finished runners-up in their competition.
Hungate made the final after a penalty shoot-out in the semi-final against Downham then followed a very competitive match against Leverington where Jack Friend scored both goals for Hungate in a 2-1 victory. With 13 teams from across Norfolk and Cambs participating, Estover Park girls finished runners-up in their group and also had the biggest tournament win of the day, 5-0 against Clenchwarton; they also beat a strong Hungate team 2-0.
In the semi-final, Estover beat Deeping Diamonds 1-0 with a last-gasp goal by Alesi Willett. In the final they played Riverside and had chances after going 1-0 down, but trying to attack to get back in the game they conceded three more goals for a 4-0 defeat, but it was a great day for the team.
