Wisbech Town boss Brett Whaley has expressed his disappointment at losing striker Danny Beaumont to Wroxham.
Beaumont left the Elgoods Stadium this morning to sign for Ryman Division One North outfit.
The frontman notched 23 goals in all competitions for the Fenmen last season.
On Beaumont’s departure, Whaley said: “Losing Danny is a massive blow to us as he has looked outstanding at our first few training sessions.
“As disappointing as it is, you have to accept it and you can’t complain if a player wants to play a higher level.
“Ultimately, I want to manager at a higher level so I’d be a hypocrite if I was to try to stop somebody from playing at a higher level.
“It’s a shame to lose another player from last year’s squad. I’ve spoken to Danny and he’s been upfront. It’s right for him, but he knows the door is open.”
Whaley hopes to bring in two more fresh faces - a midfielder and a striker - before the weekend.
Earlier this week, the Wisbech manager brought in young-guns Jack Brand and Sam Cubberley from Wisbech St Mary.
