Ten-minute spell costs Hares

Needham Market Res 4, March 1

The Hares had three penalty appeals turned down in Thurlow Nunn Division One on Saturday, while first choice goalkeeper Max Flintoff missed the game with injury.

Manager Paul Crosbie said: “We had a mad ten-minute spell while key decisions didn’t go our way.”

March Town United were 1-0 up through Paul Richardson on just nine minutes but the hosts levelled on the stroke of half-time. A horrific spell from 73 minutes onwards sunk the visitors.

March: Bradshaw, Dunlop, Darlow, Ogden, Mattless, G White (Blanchflower), Jackson, Gibbons, S White, Richardson, McKenna.

Doubtful for Saturday’s divisional cup-tie at Debenham LC are Gary White who went off at the weekend with a hamstring strain plus the injured Sam Egbayelo and Toby Ogbonna who suffered muscle strains in midweek. Captain Max Mattless is suspended.

Crosbie said: “It’s going to be tough. I hope to have a couple of signings in.”
