Peterborough Northern Star 4 March Town 1

MARCH Town opened their preseason with a tough test at last season’s FA Vase quarter-finalists PNS after conceding two goals in each half on Tuesday.

New Hares boss Paul Crosbie said: “The scoreline wasn’t reflective of the game itself. I’m trying to implement a new style of play and they adopted it for the first 25 minutes.

“All the goals were our fault and heads went down before half-time. We regrouped, made some changes and got back in the game at 2-1 with a nice five-minute spell.

“Adam McKenna scored, then rapid changes disrupted the flow and we conceded a couple of sloppy goals.

“Hopefully we’ll get mistakes out of the way by the time we kick-off. I’m pleased with the fitness levels. We haven’t done a traditional non-league preseason like running up and down hills, just purely working with the football.

“We’ve got the nucleus of a good squad.”

Crosbie is looking at four or five players tonight (Thursday) at training with a view to them featuring in Saturday’s trip to Long Sutton (3pm).

March: Hipwell; Westley, Cook, Lemmon; Darlow, White, Staffieri, Bailey, Anderson, McKenna, Woods.
