Wisbech enjoyed the unusual feat of two players notching hat-tricks in recording their biggest United Counties League Premier Division win of the season on Saturday.
It is the first time the Fenmen have scored more than six goals in a match since the 2005-06 season.
Reed struck on three minutes and on the stroke of half-time and James on 25 minutes. Reed resumed the scoring after the break to mark his hat-trick and then James notched the final three to complete his four.
Joint boss Paul Cousins said of the free-scoring duo: “I’m pleased for them, especially Callum.
“In the last few weeks he has really come on.
“TJ’s four goals will be a good confidence-booster.
“I thought we would be in for a tougher game than that – but we could have had even more goals in the end.
“Even at 3-0 up I said we have got to keep doing the ugly stuff and raise our game by five to ten per cent.
“In the first ten minutes of the second half we got three more goals.
“It was good to see in the 88th minute the likes of Danny White tracking back.”
Wisbech: Jordan, Doherty, Johnson, Fairweather, Spafford, Reed, Reid, White, James, Tricks, Stocks. Subs used: Smith, Lunn, Millson.
Wisbech’s match on Tuesday against Deeping Rangers was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Last night (Tuesday) they travelled to play away at Boston Town.
