Tydd St Mary had a very good 2-0 win over Division One side Spalding Harriers in the Target Newspapers Challenge Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
Harriers were well on top for the first half hour but goalkeeper Luke Burton saved Tydd on at least six occasions.
Then Tydd’s striker Mark Garner broke free as The Saints looked to catch Harriers on the counter attack and drilled the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to the home side.
The second half was better for Saints and on the hour after the restart Pack showed good skill to beat two defenders and slot Tydd’s second past a helpless keeper.
Player-manager Greenacre commented: “Every single player put in a man-of-the match performance, but it’s safe to say that the heroics of our keeper, Luke Burton, is the reason we are through to the semi-finals.”
