Webb hails Jimson wonder goal

Leverington boss Stuart Webb hailed a class goal from Darren Jimson that decided Saturday’s Peterborough League Premier Division game.

Webb said of the veteran’s 40-yard volley: “He also hit the bar with a similar effort.” He added on Twitter, referring to an Aston Villa strike: “Forget Matt Lawton’s goal yesterday, a tap in compared to @dazjim10 goal at ICA.”

Leverington came back from 2-0 down at half-time to defeat hosts ICA 3-2 via Sam Cubberley with his 20th goal of the season and Lewis Clayton after a solo run.

Webb added: “We were better after we changed formation midway through the first half. Special praise to Lewis and 17-year-old goalkeeper Dan Short did well on his debut.”

James McManus bagged a brace as Parson Drove beat Stilton 3-0.
